LABEL AIRE 3115-NV FRONT BACK PRESSURE SENSITIVE BOTTLE LABELER

The Label-Aire 3115-NV Front/Back Two-Sided Pressure-Sensitive Bottle Labeler is an industrial packaging system designed to simultaneously apply self-adhesive (pressure-sensitive) labels to both the front and back sides of bottles or containers as they move along a conveyor line. The system relies on two individual Label-Aire 3115-NV applicator heads positioned opposite each other on a single product handling chassis. How It Works. The system follows a synchronized, multi-step process to ensure precise, wrinkle-free label placement on moving bottles: 1. Product Infeed and Spacing Bottles travel down a main conveyor belt toward the labeling zone. A spacing wheel or feed screw separates the bottles to create uniform, precise intervals between each container. 2. Bottle Orientation and Stabilization Oval, square, or flat bottles must remain perfectly aligned to avoid crooked labels. The system utilizes a top hold-down belt that synchronized with the conveyor speed to firmly pin the top of each bottle, preventing it from twisting, vibrating, or shifting during application. 3. Product Detection As a bottle enters the labeling zone, a photoelectric product sensor detects its leading edge. This sensor triggers a signal to the microprocessor controllers on both Label-Aire 3115-NV labeling heads. 4. Label Dispensing (The Peel Tip) Inside each applicator head, a heavy-duty stepper motor advances the label backing web. The web pulls sharply around a rigid peel plate (or peel tip). Because the backing paper makes a sharp turn while the stiff plastic or paper label cannot, the front and back labels cleanly detach from their liner, exposing their pressure-sensitive adhesive. 5. Wipe-On Application The machine uses a Wipe-On (or Dispense) method.  The label is extended slightly past the peel tip directly into the path of the bottle. The moving bottle intercepts the exposed adhesive edge of the label. As the bottle proceeds forward, the label is pulled completely off the liner web, while specialized rollers or flexible brushes physically “wipe” the label flat against the sides of the bottle to remove any air bubbles. 6. Liner Rewinding The empty backing paper (scrap liner) is continuously wound onto a take-up reel via a smart web tension control system so it can be discarded later. Missing Label Compensation: Advanced sensors detect if a label is missing from the supply roll, shifting web speeds or alerting operators to prevent an unlabeled bottle from passing through.
